Why Is Scene Better Than Emo

Why Is Scene Better Than Emo

The emo and the scene lifestyles are two subcultures which have both emerged as an influence of certain types of music. As such, these lifestyles have developed their respective fashion statements.

Although both emo and scene revolve around the principle of freedom of expression and individuality, many people seem to prefer scene than emo; and many young people would rather choose to be the former than the latter. Why is this so? Most of these people who prefer scene would only say it is better than emo without stating specifically why.

There may be a few reasons why scene is considered better and is more preferred than emo, such as follows:

• Unlike emo which caters mostly to black, scene makes use of bright, striking colors like purple, red, fuchsia, and green. A lot of people find black gloomy and depressing so they prefer brighter and livelier shades.
• Although scene kids usually hang out with other scene kids, they are sociable and mostly have winsome personalities. Emo kids on the other hand, generally prefer to be alone and remain low-key even in social gatherings.
• Scene music is not limited to rock and blues music mostly catered to by emo kids. It can range from reggae to pop-rock, soul to country.
• As scene seems to incline to a wider coverage in terms of color, lifestyle and music, there is more freedom of self-expression which is usually preferred by many with artistic inclinations.

Because scene is all about scene-stealing and attention-getting in contrast to emo’s preference of solitary and low-key existence, many people find scene better than emo.
